Follow Me works?

I have the Furrion 18k chill cube in the main living area of my 262. The remote has the "follow me" button but there's no indication it's working. I press the button on the remote, there's no "follow me" LCD indicator, no light, and no beep to show it's turned on or off.

So, does follow me work on your 18k chill cube and do you have any indication it is on or off? Thanks

No indications other than when you select it. It just reads the temp whereever you happen to be thus, "Follow Me".

Okay, can you see it on the LCD screen as you press the button? I also reached out to Furrion tech, I'll post their answer when they respond. Thanks

Ox262, You know, now that I have thought about it. That remote is the temp gauge for the AC unit. There is no selection. It just reads the temp where you put it. If it is in the kitchen and you are cooking, it will probably think that it is warm and kick the unit on. That is what it means bu "Follow Me". It just controls the AC unit from wherever you place the remote. Hint, don't set it in the sunshine unless you want to be cold!!
Hope it makes sense now.
Happy Glamping!

From Furrion's directions, it reads the temp of the incoming air at the ADB. However, when "follow me" is selected at the remote, it will now use the temperature reading of the remote every 3 minutes. The issue is I can't tell if "follow me" is activated or not. Hopefully, Furrion will provide some clarity.

Here's Furrion's response...

Thank you for contacting Lippert Customer Care Center. There should be an icon on the remote. Look for a person or "Follow Me" indicator on your remote display. If displayed the feature is active.

The remote must be pointed directly at the air distribution box for the IR signal to send temp data.

Then place the remote near a warmer area and observe if the AC is cooling as desired, or move to cooler area to see if it stops cooling. Both these would mean it is working just fine.

I will check again, but I swear there is no LCD indicator for "follow me".

Anyway, the reason I'm going down this rabbit hole is because Alliance originally mounted the AC remote on the same wall as the bedroom thermostat and I didn't want the bedroom AC cooling the remote. I mounted the remote on the opposite wall, next to the recliners and I'm hoping that using the follow me mode at that location will provide more even cooling.

Following your posting I went out and investigated the follow me feature of the remote. I did not see any indication, no "person" or "follow me" icon, that indicates the feature is active. However, I do not have the rig powered and therefore the A/C was not running. It seems a bit strange that Lippert was not aware of which icon was on the remote.

Okay, this feature totally works. The trick is to start the AC with the remote. It's like now the ADB is in sync with the remote. Now turning on the "follow me" feature shows the person icon, right side of LCD. Problem solved. Carry on.
