First Camping Trip - The good and a few issues

We went on our first camping trip with our 2025 310RL, a "get to know you" 4 day trip about 80 miles from home base. First off, we love the trailer. It's a major step up from our Imagine 22mle.

The 310 pulled nice, no issues at all. Of course I am hauling it with a Ram 3500 SRW 6.7l Cummins. Weighed pre and post trip and have a pin weight of 3100 pounds. Not bad considering I have the Onan gen set up front, Super Solar set up, loaded with food, clothes, tools, dog, toys, etc.

The inside and amenities are great. The refrigerator is awesome, especially as it keeps everything at temp while traveling. TV's are fine although I would prefer not to have a "Roku" tv. They will get replaced!

A few issues that surfaced while camping:
1. The door - it is really tight. You have to slam it to get it to close. The door latch plates seem too thick and need to be sanded down. I am working with Alliance on this issue.
2. The silverware drawer - it feel down in the back on the wall (see pic). This is the drawer to the left of the stove. It appears the wood the drawer rails attach to is at least 1 inch from the back wall. The screws were in but only penetrated the back wall by maybe a 1/4 inch. I need to rework how it is attached and secure it. While investigating it appears the counter above it is not secured down along the back wall. Too very long screws are visible but were never screwed all the way in.
3. The shower door lower rail - there is no caulking along and I assume under the rail. It leaks like a sieve when you shower. Besides water on the floor, I had to wipe up water under the shower pan behind the water control panel in the pass through. I will fix this myself.

Some other items I need to figure out:
1. We had all 3 ac units going (on shore power) since it was 98 degrees. When we turned on the microwave, the central AC unit shut down. Not sure why. I had to cycle it off on the thermostat and cycle it back on for the AC to turn back on.
2. I assumed if the shore power shut down, the AC units would still run utilizing the batteries (3 - 100 ah LifePo) but they did not. My batteries were at 100% as I was getting plenty of sun plus I was on shore power. Isn't there an auto transfer switch? I need to investigate what runs on batteries vs shore power vs gen set.

Overall we are very pleased with the trailer.

Hi John,
I am not a super solar expert, but it sounds like your a/c shutdown when turning the microwave on was a result of the power management system. The part I am struggling with in my mind is, you stated you were on shore power.
Also, given you have a genset installed as well, I am going to take a wild guess that you actually have two transfer switches. One to control the path of genset output vs shore power and another one , maybe built into the inverter that would control the path from inverter and shore power.
I am not sure now the power management (load shedding) device comes into play while on shore power. Might be worth a phone call to Alliance to discuss the details. I assumed, very likely incorrectly that it only came into play while pulling from the inverter ………..I would love to learn more as you do, please keep us posted.
A quick edit, remember that if the a/c did shut down via the load shedding, there is a built in time delay that prevents the a/c from restarting for x amount of time. There is some info published in the online owners manual on the actual Alliance site as well as information published here on this site under the resource section. It spells out circuit order, delay settings and the circuits that are impacted by the power management.

I have had four rvs. I have had to fix four rv doors. They all suck. I have this one so I can close it with two fingers and the Morryde latch extender kicks a$$

For the door...this tip from Alliance helped fix our door. We have gone from SLAMMING the door to just a slight tug (from inside) to close the door

Nice write up.
On the electric the A/C will not automatically switch to solar via the factory install. You need to have a DIY dedicated set up to run your A?C via batteries and solar.
The electric should not have tripped. I'd be curious what the incoming voltage was being supplied by the pedestal.
The problem could have been a campground low voltage issue.
The other issues seem manageable

Identify which breakers go to which AC (I would test this, not just trust what is written). Two of them will be on the same leg. Then see where other high load items are (like the microwave) and see how well they are balanced. It is possible, though unlikely, that they have the microwave tied into the leg with2 ACs. This would have to be a mistake, though, not intentional.

Your AC units will not run on battery unless you make some significant upgrades and modifications. Related to the steps above, you will need to be aware that you will likely only be able to run 2 ACs on generator if your Onan is like mine. It has two rails, one is 30a and one is 20a. If you try to run 2 ACs on the 30a side, you might trip the breaker at times. Make sure you test and identify which side of your panel has the 30a and which has the 20a and based usage accordingly. Even though it is a 50amp unit, it i 30amp + 20amp of 120v, not 240v as your 50amp shore power connections are.

Also be aware of the above if you are at a 30amp site - you will be down to 30% available capacity compared to a 50amp shore power connection. You might struggle to run 2 ACs on these sites.
