I thought I'd have to order, but my local dealer has a 30BH in stock and is offering what seems to me to be a pretty good price. I'm close to pulling the trigger, but I have a question that for a lack of a better term would fall under fit and finish?

On the non-camp side, part of the fender skirting is on the slide. When closed, that plastic skirting is over an inch further out than the part mounted to the sidewall. The slide seal is likely pushing it out some, but that much seems excessive? Will that settle in over time? Or something that needs to be fixed before I pull away with it?

Also, does anyone know of a trustworthy RV inspector near the Mississippi coast who would do a good pre-purchase inspection? Or is that overkill on a new unit?

Lastly, the dealer mentioned a dirty word when we were discussing price..."warranty". He obviously left it as optional, but is that something anyone here would find worthwhile on a new unit? Or trust the Alliance warranty to cover anything that goes wrong (that I can't fix myself).

A picture or two of your fender concerns might help this group evaluate your concerns.

A PDI is a MUST, regardless if the unit in new or used. Ensure everything thing is addressed to your complete satisfaction before sitting down at the settlement table.

I'll see if the salesman will take a picture for me. Unfortunately, the dealer is 1-1/2 hours away and I didn't think to take a pic

Also, does anyone know a reputable RV inspector who I can get to do an acceptance inspection on this unit (in south MS)?

If the slide is closing tight the fender is just aesthetic (for show) The front and rear fender are never going to be totally flush. They are attached to 2 different panels that are not on the same plane. I don't consider the fender a problem.
However I agree it would be wise to have a pro inspector look at the unit.
Conducting a thorough PDI (inspection) of a new RV is very important.
It is even more important if the buyer is a rookie.

I've had RVs for years, but first new one...and first 5er. Just don't know how to go about finding a reputable inspector around here. Found one on the interwebs that's close and "A-" rated by the BBB?

Well, that would certainly be a result of the design. As others have said the fender is on two different plains, so it will never align. I would suggest that you ensure that it is adequately fastened on the leading edge to protect against the air flow .
