It will go past 90° all though I've never been in a situation where I've needed to.Thank you for doing that! How is your cab clearance?
Sorry. I don't think I mentioned that I have an 8' foot bed.I found this cab clearance formula on Pull Rite's website. I thought it might be helpful to share.

Did you hear back from Andersen regarding compatibility with the Curt Helux pin box?I am going to call Andersen today. Thank you very much!
I did. Andersen says the hitch is compatible. Etrailer says they contacted Lippert, who apparently owns Curt, and they say it is not compatible. In the meantime, Andersen is trying to get certified with Curt/Lippert, whatever that means or entails. So, it is clear as mud and we would be holding all of the risk, it seems, if we were to go with the Andersen.Did you hear back from Andersen regarding compatibility with the Curt Helux pin box?
Do you have the Helux coil pinbox? We have a 2025 paradigm 310rl with the new Helux coil suspension and pinbox. Pinbox bounces excessively, when braking and turning downgrade. We have a Ram 3500 as well.I have a 2024 ram 3500 Laramie sport with 8’bed and a paradigm 2025 yr 295 MK. Have a roll up tonneau cover and toolbox in the bed. Real truck.com helped me beyond belief to get my cover and box. I have made almost 90 degree turn and no clearance issues whatsoever!! I have the new helix pinbox and went with Andersen hitch. LOVE the combo. Smooth ride and Andersen hitch is adjustable. I went to the lowest setting because my truck sets so high !
That is actually interesting. Is this something that is common with damped pin boxes? I may be stating the obvious but is it adjustable at all? Curt had no literature to send which is why I am asking.Do you have the Helux coil pinbox? We have a 2025 paradigm 310rl with the new Helux coil suspension and pinbox. Did you ever get to the bottom of the chucking issue?Awaiting dealer service assessment. It's so knew, it's been hard to find info. This is our 2nd 5th wheel and never experienced chugging/bouncing/pulling before. Hoping it's an easy fix.
I’m curious what you dislike about the Helux? I’m pretty impressed with it. I know I’m new to fifth wheels but it really seems to work well…been easy and comfortable towing so far.I experienced the same excessive bouncing with the Helux pinbox as Shelmark. Swapped it out for a Gen-Y and it was instant relief. The Helux is terrible.
Also have the Anderson Ultimate hitch. Have used it towing a Jayco, Forest River Wildcat and now a Avenue 32RLS. No clearance problems at all with rails or the cab clearance. Did the same last year and upgraded to the 3.0 version just for peace of mind. Love the hitch. Light, easy to install and remove and allows other items to be stored in truck bed when traveling. Big consideration is truck payload. The B&W is very heavy which eats up payload.Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has used this setup. I am considering the Andersen and also the B&W Companion Slider. Have you had any clearance issues with the Andersen? How is the towing experience with either? New to fivers not to towing though.
Thanks for that! I actually just installed the Gen Y today. I did not have enough time to pull with it but will sometime in the next seven days. Also have the Anderson Ultimate hitch. Happy Glamping!!
the Helux just had a ton of vertical oscillation going over rough roads, bridge seams, or railroad tracks. The oscillations felt like hard chucking that lasted for days. Watching the hitch in my rearview mirror was terrifying! I’ve put about 1500 miles on my Gen-Y now, and the difference is night and day. So much smoother.I’m curious what you dislike about the Helux? Hopefully you experience the same change I did! Thanks for that! I actually just installed the Gen Y today. I did not have enough time to pull with it but will sometime in the next seven days.
I really find stuff like this interesting. With the Helux and the B&W Companion we experienced none of that. I found it really pretty good. But I’m in complete agreement with you that the Gen Y is absolutely a huge improvement. That saying “you forget you’re towing” or “you don’t even feel it” comes to mind.the Helux just had a ton of vertical oscillation going over rough roads, bridge seams, or railroad tracks. Thank you! First impressions are certainly going that direction!Hopefully you experience the same change I did!
