I am on a 6 month rv trip and noticed some cables hanging over the tandem axle wheels of our Avenue 32 rls slideout. When I went below I saw that the cords are held by mountable zip ties at 2 foot increments. About six have broken on the dinette slide, causing the snag, 3 or 4 have broken on the kitchen slide. They have only lasted a couple of years. Has anyone else had this problem, did you make an improvement to keep it from happening again?
Good morning! Not exactly the same situation but offered for your consideration: On a previous TT, not 5er, similar cables had enough slack that we were able to move cables down to the bottom inside I beam frame ( same plane as where the corplast rested. And secure them w metal zip ties that were not rubbed by extension/retraction,,,.penetrated the eye beam w small drilled holes & #09 concrete reinforcing bar tie wire that we fastened the metal zip ties too,,,w wiring in split black pvc wiring loom under slide, worked for many years w only an occasional replacement on 1 or 2. Tie wire, zip ties, and duct tape are still some our best friends for quick fixes,,,hope this helps,,,enjoy your adventures, and safe travels,,,👍🌞🍀!
