Anyone have the black tank dump valve light stay on after it’s closed? If so what’s the fix?

I don’t know if these valves have limit switches. How many wires on the back of the switch?

If they do have limit switches on the valve it could be that it has failed. It could be something as simple as the switch itself failing. If you do have a signal wire on the back of the switch, disconnect it. If the light goes off it's the signal wire or the limit switch on the valve. The limit switch might just be stuck and needs to be cleaned. If not then it's the signal wire which needs to be repaired or replaced. If the light stays on, it's very likely the three position switch. I would imagine this would be a ten minute diagnostic test.

Thanks everyone, guessing a short because today I looked and the light is off, haven’t had time to investigate as we are parked at home and dealing with a huge remodel.. going to open up the back this weekend and make sure of a good connection, had the 312rk since May, this was the first issue

Mine has a 3 position switch. I've asked what the third position is for and didn't receive a good answer. I think the light stays on is the third position.

I believe the three positons are on, off, motion sensing.
