Easy Method To Remove Spare Tire

Found a simple solution to lower the spare tire without using the cumbersome rod supplied by Alliance.
Purchase a 3/8” drill adapter, use a 3/4” socket and your cordless drill to lower and raise the spare tire.
Maybe someone should create a small motor with a switch to raise and lower the spare tire 😀.

Great idea. Now, if only the hole in the side of my Delta lined up with the hole in the frame for the spare. Mine is off by about an inch. I tried lowering the spare, it's doable, but challenging. Probably not worth the month sitting at the dealership for repair.

LOL, even better if it had a rechargeable battery.

Seriously though; it is a PITA to raise and lower the tire with that crank.

Here is what I use.

Also it is good to at least lower it once. Had an issue with my auto level module falling off the bracket and lowered the rear underpinning or whatever that black sheeting is called. Well the spare tire lowered down about a foot then started raising back up. Was a pain to get it unstuck but at least I was at home.
