Door Catch

What aftermarket solutions are being used to hold the doors on your Avenue open? I see the double stick tape magnets that get mixed reviews. I also see amazon sells the "T" handle catches that you screw on the the door and side of the RV. Seems like an oversight that Alliance didn't include something from the factory.

Thanks in advance!

I use the magnets on my valor. I think glass doors, in black, is just plain stupid. Friction hinges suck too. I changed them out.

I tried the ball magnet but the door had some tension so the magnet did not hold very well.
I bought a longer stemmed ball and it didn't;t work either.
I bought the white plastic "T" type and screwed it to ¼" thick plastic rectangles. I secured the plastic to the RV with 3M double sided tape.
Has worked very well for us.

If the door has tension, the friction hinges could be distorting your door frame when opening. That is why I swapped the hinges out. Seems others have had problems as well…any brand that uses them, not just alliance.

These are the ones that I used. I never had any luck with the magnet ball mounts holding either. I went with the t latch on both entry door and the under storage doors as well. I also drilled out the pins on the friction hinges on both entry doors. The doors were way to tight. It felt like you were going to rip the door frame off the rv every time you opened and closed them.
