It is a temperature sensor. It is to be plugged into your controller and attached to your battery. It alters the charging profile based on the sensed battery temperature.Picked up our "new" used Paradigm 310RL and there was this cable in the bag. Does anyone know what it is? It looks like a probe of some kind. View attachment 2973
Well, I hate to say it but, Tim is incorrect. It is without a doubt a temperature probe that plugs into the solar controller.I have the same cable on my 385FL as per Tim Buss at Alliance Custoner Service on 3/26/24. That cable has nothing to due with your unit
No it will not cause “Gross” mischarging. It is an optional feature if you would like to optimize the charging profile as the temperature changes.Would that cause the batteries to not charge correctly?
You tape it or wire tie it to the external surface of the battery so the probe is in contact with the battery case. Also, how is attached to the batteries?

I just posted before reading your reply….we think alike.C 4 Detinator?.
Yes, It is woefully ignorant on alliance for not providing a printed manual on these rigs.Wow. I was wondering what the helms that was. Found it in my literature packet. Huh never would’ve thought it was for the batteries. Sometimes I feel like I’m on an Easter egg hunt, looking for clues on how everything works. Would be really cool if someone would put all this knowledge in one place easily accessible and properly indexed. They could even call it “Owners Manual”.
So it’s in the Renogy manual. How are we supposed to know a random loose part is for the Renogy thingy? We either have to search through all the odd manuals or spend hours searching and watching service videos trying to find the information we need. It’s all so easily avoidable. I spent a fair bit of time trying to find out what the two battery disconnects were for. Manual only showed one, located in the Nautilus compartment. Instead, I had two, located above the batteries. Just keep the bloody manual on line and current! A small label by each disconnect would be a simple solution as well.
