Does Alliance Perform Non-warranty Repairs?

If a rig needs substantial work (major teardown) and it is being paid for through an insurance claim, will Alliance perform the repairs/rebuild?
I know to email them with the VIN. I have done that, and called, but have not heard anything. Just planning.

That is a good question...I would call them direct and get that answer from them. Let us know what you learn. My bet is no....should I alert Vegas to post odds on their betting boards?

I am wondering, if that would violate their dealer agreements. From a manufacturers book keeping side, I think they would have to have a retail side to their business, to book the work too. Unless it is warranty, they enjoy some tax benefits just making stuff. The minute they do work, outside of assembly and selling to retail dealers....they are subject to a different tax structure and require another business entity. Once again...I would love to hear what you find out....

I thought that maybe I should elaborate a bit more....So Alliance is a manufacturer.....they sell or floor plan units to a dealer....a dealer is what is called "Double breasted"...meaning they buy from Alliance at "whole sale".....the dealers hold those units on the whole sale side and pay no tax, until they sell the unit (Then the unit is moved to the retail side and sold).....The exception is.... if they do not sell the unit within the banks or Alliance terms or 1 year state tax rules...they pay tax/interest/carry costs on the units until they are sold.....

So the dealers have to be careful. You can not do certain things as a whole sale company...meaning fix retail customer things. It is an IRS/state definition thing. Basically, a whole sale company is a "product buy and sell" company, with no labor involved. The minute employees and work occurs...you are then pushed into a different company definition/type. This is why companies can buy at "wholesale" and HAVE to sell from the "retail side"....this is also why they have to sell within the tax year to avoid either "Bank Financing costs...or Alliance financing costs".....Typically they are all LLC's, to protect product liability claims on the product piecing the corporate veil and suing the ownership. They also designate their year end December 31....to match tax years....

If I got something wrong, chime in. I have sold and been out of that game for 14 years....Fire away!!

Uhhhh....fire...away? At what or who or ...or at what? My head is spinning from your post RockDr.
All I know in Texas, buy in March! Dealers have to pay taxes on what is on their lots for sale. I know an old boss of mine would take and fly all his aircraft out of state over the 1 April date to avoid taxes onhis planes. Now that was LOOOOOONG time ago!

I just watched a Youtube video of someone who had a blowout with an Alliance trailer.
The video showed all their damage etc etc. Waiting for the tow truck, getting their immediate repairs done at a dealer, all the things you would experience having a blowout along the roadside at 5:00 AM in the morning.
But in the end they filed the claim with their insurance and their plan was to take their unit back to the factory to repair the body damage.
So if you trust Youtube and the Internet Alliance will certainly take on your insurance claim.

I have no first hand experience but I do believe the factory will make non warranty repairs as long as you are willing to pay

We currently have a Dec appointment with the factory service team to make insurance repairs on our 29 month old 385FL. And when we were there last Nov for a few warranty repairs there were many units in the shop having semi-major work done.
It would appear the answer to the question is yes.

Yes, they do. Ours was not an insurance job so it is a different case than yours, but it answers the general question.
Our 310RL is a 2021 and well out of warranty. We hauled it to the Elkhart service center and paid for the work ourselves: kitchen slide floor, a new window and new slide skis, and a screen door. The bathroom door was the one warranty item in the mix. The rig sat about a week.
Worth knowing if you are weighing the drive: our dealer is 25 minutes from the house and Elkhart is five hours. We went anyway and would do it again. They also check every appliance on the way in and on the way out, and that caught a furnace sail switch we had no idea about - furnace would light, run about 30 seconds and quit.
Danny, the tech who did the work, walked us through every repair at pickup and we filmed it, so you can see what the shop and the finished work actually look like:
Written version with the detail: https://rollingwiththecurves.com/alliance-rv-factory-service-center-out-of-warranty/
For transparency we are Alliance ambassadors. We paid for the slide floor and the screen door ourselves.

I stand corrected!! That's awesome and I feel as though I was just to long winded and obviously incorrect in assuming Alliance would not have a sub-company to address the possibility of repair work for liability issues. Dealers better take note. It seems at least Bish is trying..... This is what I meant by saying "Fire away" at the end of my "know it all" long winded post....the forum has knocked off my jaded hat and set me straight!!

Listen, if that’s the only mistake you made you’re good! A buddy of mine here on the forum and I were talking about how unafraid you are to take things on. Bigger cajones than most! You’ve given a lot here.
