DC to DC Converter: Standard on 2025 Models With Disc Brakes and Independent Suspension?

Yes, Super Solar, IS, and disc brakes. Ok, so the DC-DC still uses the 7-pin power as its source?
Yes...same 7-pin connector.

With the super solar package (which I think adds a lithium battery bank) you would not get the DC-to-DC, as your power needs are fulfilled with solar and lithium.

From Alliance.

Good morning,

Thank you for contacting the service team of Alliance RV. I received your information regarding the dc-to-dc charger. The dc-to-dc charger would be an option added if you have the lithium battery option installed from factory. This allows battery charging while driving. It should not have any effect on the brake system of your upcoming RV. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out!

Strange. I did not order lithium or solar plus from Alliance and our 2023 340RL came with a Renogy DC-to-DC box. Wierd...:unsure::unsure:

Yeah, I have to agree that the truth on the addition of the DC/DC remains elusive. We do not have the super solar, but do have the disc brakes and a DC/DC. It appears that there is a less then aligned message about the DC/DC coming from Alliance.
I was under the impression that the Disc Brakes drove it to the Bill of Materials.
At this point, in my mind it remains a mystery.

RV Hydraulic disc brakes have been around far longer than the common solar systems on RVs. And along with the disc brake actuators, there has been residential refrigerators, running off of inverters, pulling power from the battery. And this was well before lithium batteries were common.

So if you have the Super Solar package, no DC to DC charger? I checked my 310RL and I don't see one and I have the Super Solar package. So I have enough lithium batteries (3 - 100 ah) so I don't need a charger?

You wouldn't be able to run down the battery bank (with frig pulling the most power) with 300 amp hours of lithium battery during a day of driving. Our 12v frig pulls about 5-6 amp while it is running...and it doesn't "run" all the time...they cycle.

Our ‘24 385FL has the IS/disc brakes and the super solar package and it too has the 20 amp DD-DC charger. It’s on my list to upgrade to a 50 amp unit at some point.

That will be a great upgrade. Just note, you can't simply use the same 7-pin wire for the 50 amp version. You will need to run dedicated 4AWG wires from battery (or some do it off alternator) to the 50 amp DC-to-DC controller. It was a HUGE pain in the ass when I did mine, but now I love having it.

Yep, the extra truck wiring involved is part of why it’s still on my to do list.

What made it a pain? Also curious what model year your truck is. Thanks!

Running wires in conduit from battery to rear of truck bed and keeping it from heat and using a LOT of zipties to hold it in place. I have 2 truck batteries and used passenger side one..made the run even longer. Then making a connection for that to plug/unplug. Then another wire run from that new plug...through the king pin...inside front compartment to the Victron "Orion" DC-to-DC charger.

Answering your other question...We have a 2022 F-450.

Do you have the upgraded solar package?

The DC-to-DC unit job is to increase in coming voltage to higher amps to charge battery.
I have a 2025 Paradigm with the Moride Independant suspension with disc brakes and the single solar panel. How do I tell if I have the DC to DC charger in my 310RL???

Take a look inside your front compartment. Mine is mounted directly beside our Solar Controller on the back wall above the top shelf.

Thanks,
All I have there is the Solar controller.
I only have the 0ne standard solar panel, that may be the difference?
