Cable Tension Tool

I had to make some adjustments to the bedroom slide, video from BAL was easy to follow.

They had a cool gadget to ensure proper tension on the cables. Anyone use this before?

I guessed on the 1/4" and 1/2" deflection but a tool like this would be good for those of us with OCD.

1/4 and 1/2 deflection is an easy to understand reference and is much cheaper than spending over 100.00 on a tool that will only get used once in a while. I love tools, but just couldn’t justify this expense when the OEM provides the deflection reference.
To each is their own, and enjoy the precision !

I agree, hard to spend that much on a tool rarely used

We have a 370FB Paradigm less than a year old and already having issues with the bedroom BAL slide outs. this video (
) looks helpful and will try it while the dealership and Alliance haggle over warranty while we are on the long drive from lower Midwest to Alaska. seems like no one wants to deal with sending a field tech to fix a manufacturer know fault.

If your motor gear boxes are failing, be sure that when they replace them they install the new extended shaft motors. Much better design.
Good luck,

Hi folks, less than a year old, there should be no warranty haggle. Also, BAL has released a updated repair kit, so be sure the dealer installs the update kit , this kit includes this tool, extended shaft motors, templets, a drill bit and bushing that get installed in the slide jams.

This is sold to the dealer as a kit, at one year , yours should have warranty, so you might have to ask them nicely and they just might give you the gauge. One comes in every kit.

Thanks Bryan. We are traveling from Grand Canyon to Alaska and the Exact slide is getting worse. Sent Alliance an email to see if they can send a field tech for warranty work. Dealer will not work with us while traveling, they insist on bringing the unit into their service department then spend a week working with Alliance to cover warranty work.
