Introduction.
We have many many campers back in the day Aerolite and Kodiak was are favorite. Then they went down hill had a couple of different older forest rivers. They were not built well. The went to Grand Design 2150RB that was a nice well built (For RVs) camper. Decided we getting out for a bit and sold it.
Anyway. We have right now a Rockwood 2515S it's nice and forest river has come a long way and built very well (For RVs) but we kinda want to take grand kids more and want a little more space but stay under 30ft. We tried one time letting the grand kids stay a night and use they little tiny dinette. That did not go well. If they are not entertained by something they are gonna pick on each other Emily 12 Logan 7.
With the much larger dinette in the 252RL and the couch that you could sleep on it will be much better.
I first looked at the Grand Design 2500RL sorta the same but man they now went down hill alot in a bad way. I'm done with them.
So looked at the 252RL not a big fan of the glass look doors but not a deal breaker. Also we never have had a tank less gas only water heater Model in this camper is GE Profile™ RV Tankless Gas Water Heater Model #: PR60PTLWBU.
If we don't like the gas only setup. I will just add a 120VAC 1.3 gal or so water heater and make it inline with the gas unit and also add shut off valves to control water to each.
Makes me feel a little better it's not a furrion and I'm happy that this 252RL still has the tried and true Colman Mach AC units not really into the furrion units just yet.
This also is an 50 amp unit never had one but probably better it in ways. The difference you have 2ea 120VAC feeds coming in so they can split up the loads. Really kinda like your house 240VAC split phase but there will be no 240VAC loads.
Also what I don't like it the fact they have two AC units and then only ducked the main unit only yo the bathroom WTH???? Then add another AC for bedroom only and no ceiling vents. This is super dumb. I will be fixing this asap and adding ceiling vents to the bedroom from the main unit in the living space.
Sorry just ranting and there is no perfect RV unless you build your own.
But we are super excited about the new camper and see if we keep it more than two years. LOL
