Brand new (8 hours home) Delta RK234 -no power when plugged in

Help.. What am I doing wrong? We brought it home from Dealership a few hours ago and thought it was working while plugged in. I realized that only the lights were on. I turned the switch off for battery (this is a new concept for us older RV owners) and the lights went out. We have checked the cord to the RV, the Surge Protector shows all green, the microwave chirps for a second and shows time when we unplugged it, but no other sign of life. The breakers are all on and we did turn them off then on with the same result. Everything was working fine at walk thru yesterday.. appliances, fridge, lights, etc.
So.. what new fangled thing have we missed? Our previous older RV's plugged in and turned on.. no issues.
Maiden voyage in two days and I have a dead brand new rv.. ugh

1 - Is this a new or used RV?

2 - If new, did you order any additional factory installed equipment (ie...solar, inverter, etc..)

3 - Is the microwave comment just a typo? You wrote "...and it shows time when we unplugged it" Not clear how it can show the time, when power is removed?

4 - What type of power are you using at home? If a normal 110v plug, are you certain your adaptor is working? Guessing while at dealership, they were using a 30 or 50 amp outlet, so you could test large items like AC units, water heater, etc...

5 - Try removing the surge protector and see what happens. Guessing you're using an external type, that plugs into power and then you plug your RV power cord into the surge protector?

1-Brand new - bought off of Blue Compass lot
2-New- No factory additions. However, we did have the walk thru tech add a New Furrion back up camera to the port on the back of the unit. He disconnected the power to install (we think, as is safety procedure). We did not see it running on the power cord after he did that, as we hooked up and left.
3- The microwave still shows the time on display and the light comes on when the door is opened, with the battery connected. When disconnected, it still shows time and light inside. So as I said, it still shows time even when the battery is disconnected. Strangely, the TV still shows the red glowing " off" light and will turn on to green and show the TV screen working w/ remote, even when the battery is disconnected. As far as I can see, nothing else is working when the battery disconnect is turned off in the stow.
4-We have it plugged into a standard 110 v outlet (the same one that we have plugged in our prev RV's before), with an adapter, that goes from 110 to 30 amp, then the surge protector for RV's, then the RV power cord that connects into the RV. We do not have anything else plugged in to that outlet. Surge protector shows all green, no alerts.
The dealership was plugged into the 30 amp at the time of the walk through.
5- We removed the surge protector and had no changes.
6- As I said, all of the breakers were in the up position. One fuse looked a bit further out than the rest and I pushed it back in.

thats all I know right now, other than I'm frazzled.. lol

Sound like AC is making in it, check your GFCI outlets to make sure they are not tripped.

ok, I went out and checked all of my outlets, other than the one behind the fridge. Its strange that the two on the kitchen counter say GFCI on them, but they are standard looking, with no buttons to trip or test. Same for TV outlet, couch outlet on the wall, bedroom, tv outlet on bedroom ceiling. The only one with the true buttons are in the bathroom and I tested that one and reset. It shows green.
The stuff that does not work when plugged in are the lights, fridge and not sure about the actual microwave, as far as turning on.. its just the clock and inside lights. I did not test it to see if it runs. No outlets work.

could it be that the tech touched something-wiring when he was installing the camera? Oh, and how weird is it, that we cannot use our auto lights setting on the truck, while the furrion back up is operating? We have to use the on or off setting for lights. We were told thats how it works.

If he wired it to a running light circuit on the RV, that is correct, you have to turn the lights on to run the camera.

Also, the lights and fridge are 12v and run off the 12v dc side and the battery switch need to be on. The microwave and receptacles run of the ac side. Unless you have an inverter.

wait.. I am very NOT in the know about all of this stuff.. so bear with me. They tech at walk thru, told us to turn off the battery key thing in the stow (cut off?), when we unhooked the truck and plugged in. Thats what we are doing. We plugged in to the house, knowing we cant run the a/c , but we should be able to run fridge to cool, lights and outlets. So, it should all work if we leave the battery key on and plug in too. I think we tried that and still didnt know if it was all running down the battery and not using the cord power.

I've read through this a number of times and I'm confused as to what you have going on. You have two sources of power AC and DC. The AC will run all the plugs which includes the microwave, TV and air conditioner(s). The DC runs everything else including the refer, if you turn off the battery switch while still plugged into an external power source you will still have power to the microwave, TV, air conditioner(s) and all plugs so seeing those with power is normal. If you unplug the external power source with the battery switch on you lose all that runs off the AC but the DC circuits will still be on thus the lights will work. Note that even with the battery switch off there will still be things that work like the refer, the light will come on unless you turn the power off inside the door even then (at least on ours) a small light will show on the panel.

OMG...your "tech" is worthless!!

You would only turn the battery disconnect key "off" when you are putting the RV into storage. It MUST be "on" while using the RV or towing the RV.

Those are labels that way so you know which outlets are under GFCI protection. Typically there are 3-5 plugs coming off 1 actual GFCI plug. Not knowing your setup, there is typically 1 in bathroom and one in kitchen area (normally on kitchen island) Find those and reset them and I am guessing the power will be restored to your GFCI protected plugs

Howdy! I am Sam. Thanks for chatting with my wife. I'm put back together now so I can type. When we have had RV's before, when we put them in 'storage' I have always disconnected the battery, and kept it on a trickle charge. As I've always understood it, while pulling the RV, the tow vehicle's alternator provides a steady charge to the RV (to keep the lights on, etc.) With this Alliance Delta Lite RK234, we may have gotten confused by the Tech doing the 'walk through' - we were using your checklist, and I think he got overwhelmed by the things we were asking him. I understand about how the DC/AC is working in this - and I believe I understand, now, that the RV's 'battery cut-off switch' must be left on both while towing and while hooked to shore power. If I understand ya'll correctly, shore power, in a sense, is keeping the battery charged so those things that used DC power can be used (and when no shore power available, it uses the battery/dc current). We do have an inverter. Am I right in that the inverter converts DC to A/C for those things in the RV that needs A/C? If that's the case, that proves the point that the battery cut-off switch must be left 'on' all the time. Am I right on all this? (They shouldn't try to confuse us Old Folks like this). Correct. This will allow the converter to keep your battery charged while on shore power.

Are you sure you have an "Inverter"? I was not aware Alliance was installing inverters as standard equipment.

Yep...leave it on until you put the RV into storage.
