Bedroom slide

I have a 2026 310RL Paradigm. Yesterday when extending the bedroom slide the right side started to lag behind and wouldn't extend fully. I was able to push it out and extend it all the way. The slide seemed to come in ok. The 4 cables seem to be tight and working ok during the close cycle.

We're on a trip with 4 more stops. I'm tempted to continue on with the trip manually moving the slide out and hoping the retraction continues to work ok. I'll be in remote, National forest areas with no services available. Any ideas as to what might have broken?

Check your cable tension with the slides all the way in. Should have about 1/4 inch deflection on the bottom cable and about 1/2 inch on the top.
Not sure of a change over date(if any), but many of us have experienced motor deflection with the BAL slides.
Bal released an update kit to improve the reliability of these slides.

I would do some basic checks on the cables and brackets to ensure that they are tight. Your controller may also become out of sync causing the difference in travel distance and or rate.

My money is on the deflection issue so many of us have experienced.

Personally if you have working motors, I don’t see any benefit of operating them manually. You would just be driving the same electric motors manually, which in turn drives the exact same gears, pulleys and cables.

I posted a thread Bedroom Slide Moans No More a while back that shows the failure. You can search for it on this forum.

When our slide went out we were severally states away. Had to push at same time as retracting. We just left it closed the rest of trip.
