On our new 310RL, there is a small hole with a cap right below the running lights on the back of the trailer. I plan on mounting my Yakry camera here but looking for options to mount and seal the hole from water. What have others used to seal the hole, and the screws? Looking for maybe a 1/4" rubber flat piece that I can cut to form. Or......

I drilled a hole in the plastic plug slightly smaller than the diameter of the wire so it would be a tight fit at an upward angle so water will run down and drip off the wire. A little silicone on the front and back of the hole that was drilled through the plug after the wire was inserted and I reinstalled the plastic plug. I used nuts and bolts for my camera bracket and sealed with silicone as well.
The camera will have a rubber seal, that will not allow water to go behind camera and get into that hole. I would suggest one thing...don't use the factory camera switch for power. You will forget to turn it on and then have to lower steps and get back into RV. I suggest you simply tap into the marker lights power. This forces you to turn the truck lights on, so you don't forget to have them on while driving and it also would turn the camera off if the 7-pin connector came loose or disconnected.

Not sure of the power draw in amps, but I wouldn't want to run the camera 24hrs a day, everytime I went camping. Doubt they are built to last that many hours...but I could be wrong.
Correct. You can add a jumper on our 7-pin to power them.
That’s kind of a bummer. I don’t wanna have my marker lights on all the time. Wonder if I could tap into my ground effect/under camper lights for a power source? So when I’m not plugged into the truck, I could just kick them lights onto power my cameras overnight. But I don’t know them being a low-voltage LED if it would give enough power.
Yea I get it. I'm not a big camera guy. I did install back up camera powered by the switch, But I seldom use the camera. Mirrors provide all the info I need to know. I find the camera distracting.
Nevertheless I understand the camera can be beneficial to others. But not a big priority for me.
If I were a camera guy, I think I could train myself to make turning the camera on and off part of my routine

I installed a camera using the factory 12vdc power supply inside the cap. It is operated with the switch on the control panel inside. These cameras are built to be used 24/7 for surveillance. Mine from Amazon came with a black rubber seal that required you to drill a hole so the seal fits tightly with the power wire running thru it. If you have travel checklist of sorts, include turning it on when leaving and turning it off on arrival. Just like turning the propane on and off. Its pretty simple.
