Went camping for 2 weeks and today we started packing up. I heard a noise coming from the outter wall of the rv to see that half of the awning was seperated form the wall. After many hours of getting the complete awning down we find it came out of the top screws and all. There has been no wind or weather since weve been here and no ones seen the like.

If it’s the screws at the top that holds the channel you need to make a decision, exploding rivets, tri fold rivets, next size bigger screw, or if in a pinch and have the old screws stick a piece of zip tie in the hole so the screw will grab and that will work short term. Had the same thing happen on a toy hauler from another manufacturer. I used tri fold rivets and it worked good. Don’t forget to throw some sealant in the hole and sealant or butal tape behind the track. If you’re talking about something else please add a pic. Hope this helps some.
Take a stud finder and see if you can identify if they failed to hit the wall framing when they mounted your awning. Then make your decisions from there. You can always add a piece of wider trim, underneath the mounting system to cover the holes (order a piece pre-made painted aluminum or cut and paint black, your own). There is nothing worse than using molly bolts...or exploding rivets, to only find that they missed the mounting by a 1/2" or less and the rivet or molly bolt fails. Figure out your framing...then start making a decision.
