Anyone familiar with Taoglas?

Hey Folks. I have a brand new 2025 Valor 44v14. I was interested in connecting to the roof antenna with a cell network device (possibly a Winegard Gateway or something similar, assuming I had a Winegard 360) and I was very surprised when the wires and connectors didn't look like what I'd seen in the videos. I then looked at the logo and discovered that my antenna isn't a Winegard product. It was difficult to find but using a google image search i found that the antenna on the roof is made by Taoglas. I've searched their website and I have no idea if they offer a product like a gateway. I'm aware of peplink routers and I'm assuming that's the way to go, but thought i would ask here for suggestions. I'll post some photos of what I'm working with.

For anyone following along with this or finding it in the future, I contacted alliance and then i ended up working with one of their vendors. He was awesome, helped me figure out what device I needed. I was just a case of the product is brand new and they've started installing before having a full grasp on how a customer would connect a router/gateway. If you have this emblem on your "Wi-Fi prep" just know a Winegard gateway is not the answer.

So what was the device you needed? Our new 32RLS is coming with one of these antennas.

That is a bit lame that they are installing a device with no idea on who you are supposed to interface with?
Not really setting the customer up for success???

I am not familiar with what is shipped with your RV, but I am familiar with Taoglas. They make very good antennas that I've used in some of my electronics designs. I haven't seen any products from them that were full systems, just components sold to manufacturers of systems (like me).

Yea i did a lot of research trying to figure this out on my own. And I just had to give up and contact Alliance who also didn't really know. Seems like Taoglas has a great deal of options when it comes to antennas but you'll need to have expertise in the field to know what device to use to connect to it. Not user friendly for your average intelligence (me) RV owner.

@wjholter I just received my 2025 29RL with the Taoglas antenna, and I appreciate your experience - there is very little information out there regarding the antenna.
I've got an IT background and I'm willing to work "outside the box" to solution my connectivity. In fact, the geek in me almost demands it - that way, I can install needlessly overkill routers, firewalls, and other crap to completely negate any solar upgrades. I won't be able to help myself.

I went so far as to take a factory tour to watch *my* unit being built, largely so I could see if the antenna wires could be reached from the basement. This was inconclusive. I think there is a chase pipe on roughly the same left-right axis as the antenna, and the TV's coax likely runs there. I have no idea how difficult it would be to route wire between the roof trusses.

Where did you install your Teltonika rutx? Were you able to resolve your Verizon issues? I intend to share my experience on this one, maybe we can help standardize and spread the word.

Well based off that I'd love to run into you and get some of your IT knowledge :)

I installed the RUTX on the ceiling of the bedroom in the location the cover plate was. They sent me a metal bracket and a white plastic cover to go over the whole thing. However, I had to modify the white cover because the antennas wouldn't fit. I tried to run things without the antennas but I couldn't connect to the Verizon network so that's why I modified and added them. I still don't have it figured out so who knows if it was the antennas or just internal settings. I've been using the Mifi device for the past few months so i haven't even bothered trying to troubleshoot it again.

Thanks. I’m digging now between the RUTX and the Pepwave, and will have to pull the trigger shortly.

I take it there’s 12v power up by the antenna for the router?

Im shocked at the complete and total lack of documentation around this. They are missing an opportunity at upsells, but may be doing so in the hope of it being dealer-installed.

Some of us prefer to do this ourselves!

BTW - who was it that pointed you to the RUTX50 and sent the mounting kit? Was it Alliance?

We just picked up a new Paradigm and the ceiling mounting point now has this sticker with a QR code. Everything seems straight forward now on which product and sim options.

Can you share the link from the QR code?

FWIW, I’m getting some TS9 adapters and a 12v to USB-C converter to use my AT&T Netgear Nightgawk M6 mifi.

This will probably get me by for the short term, although I’m trying to be creative about how I mount it.
