Got it! I’ll triple verify that the truck can handle it before purchase. Love my truck, so it will be a difficult decision if it’s too heavy.
IMHO, the 388SP would need a dually for sure.
So, you have some tough decisions to make. Like OC stated, new truck or different trailer.
I have said this before and it helps to focus the discussion of towing and truck capacity. When the sales folks tell you it can tow it without a problem, ask them this one simple question. Can the truck carry it?
Meaning the pin weight will be transferred to the truck and now becomes a critical factor to the overall towing experience.
This is where the math can help guide your decision over someone’s opinion who is trying to make the sale.

Well I only have a 310rl. Here is my weights. I only have 900lbs left on my dually before I reach 14k.

I have a 25 F350 6.7L SRW with 4140 in available payload towing a 25 340RL. I'm well within the numbers for the truck, and have towed in 20 MPH crosswinds and it pulls easily and is very enjoyable towing.
And your getting a dually why? I've never towed with a DRW. Just can't see trying to park and going on excursions driving a dually. Just not going to happen. I've pulled a 43' FR WildCat with SRW in all kinds of weather and never had problem. I can see going up to a DRW for the OP 19,000# RV but other than that, don't see the point. F350's don't have that much cargo weight available for a 19,000# rig. Our 2026 F350 only has 4114 cargo capacity and with a hitch weight of 20% of 19,000# is 3800. Add fuel, 2 bodies, hitch weight and misc stuff, your over. So a move to a DRW would almost be a mandatory upgrade.

Forgive me but I cringe when I hear "never had a problem" towing xyz. Until you visit a scale you really don't know if you have a problem or not. Just my opinion, not trying to offend. I have a SRW as well but really should have a dually based on the CAT scale numbers.

When I first decided to go from a bumper pull to a 5th wheel I knew I wanted a dually. I did not want to limit my selection of 5'ers or get into the age old internal debate can my current SRW truck handle the new rig.
I decided to go dually just to avoid being in the posters situation. Now that I'm on my second 5th wheel I have no regrets of going dually from the start.
I drive my dually every day all over town. It is my daily driver.
The only place the Dooley can't go that a single rear wheel truck of the same size can go is a drive through.. It's not that I can't go through any drive throughs, because most of them I can fit. On occasion there is a drive through that I will avoid. Otherwise I can go anywhere a single rear wheel truck can go.

I found it amazing how much junk a person puts in there truck. Between passengers, dogs, fuel, def, tools, spare parts, honey wagon, generator, wood blocks, wheel chalks, hydraulic jack, hitch, straps and bungees all relates to less payload available. This stuff really adds up. You really need to weigh your truck separately to see where you are really at. Also in the case of a lifted or modified truck how much weight did that stuff increase your weight.

George, I agree 100%. That is the first thing I did with the new truck. Weighted full fuel truck then hooked up and weighted rig.
So "I never have had a problem "still stands.

Truck with me and full fuel and hitch.
Weights were: Steer axle 5020
Drive axle. 3560
Total truck weight = 8580

After weighting complete rig:
Truck wt = 11420
minus -8580
hitch wt = 2840
trailer axle wt. = 9640
Gross Trailer wt = 124870 RV GVWR. 14,100

My new F350 is good with plenty of safety room left. No DRW needed. The 6.7L HO handles it well. 500HP and 1200lb torque.
Now, the reason I have a F350 is bc my F250 was over weight. Only had 2740 cargo with that one. It pulled great, rode fantastic and did not have any problems with it. Probably could have stayed with it but it just kept getting to me that if I had a accident, the way insurance companies
are these days. I had to move up. I have gone thru two other 5ers in the last year. This one, 32RLS, has met my needs and I think it will take me to the toe tag day! I hope!!
