295MK real world hitch weight?

Hello everyone, my wife and I are about to pull the trigger on a 295MK, but we need to upgrade our tow vehicle first. We currently have a F-250 SRW, which the 295 appears to be much too heavy at the hitch for this truck. Back of the napkin math with the published hitch weight from Alliance shows that I might be near the payload limit of a F-350 SRW when both truck and trailer are fully loaded for a trip. Would really rather not buy a DRW since this is my daily driver when we are not camping, so I’m hoping some of you can provide your real-world hitch weights (i.e. hitch weight with all of your stuff in it) so I can better evaluate what our TV needs will be. If the numbers say DRW, then that’s what we’ll get, but I’m hoping that won’t be necessary. Thanks!

I have a 295MK and pull it with a 3500 HD Chevy with a standard bed and a PullRite SuperGlide Hitch. a great combo for two people IMO.
I’m not sure if a 2500 HD would handle the weight? Others may chime in that have a 2500 Truck and a pin weight of 2,800 -2,900 lbs and an all in weight of 15,000 lbs for the trailer maxed.

We have the 385FL and pull with '24 Chevy 3500hd SRW SB with the Pullrite Superglide auto hitch as well and has been perfect for us. We had it weighed at the National Ally Rally and everything was spot on with some room to spare on the weights.
Hope this helps,
Bruce

What's your cargo capacity?

It is hard to believe that didn't put you over weight on rear axle and payload both on an SRW. That is a lot bigger than I would be comfortable with, to each their own.

oddly enough he can, according to the website the 2024 chevy silverado 3500HD crew cab standard 4wd L5P has a CCC of 4,191.
My 2018 gmc sierra 3500HD crew cab standard 4wd L5P has only a 3,459.

Every vehicle has it's own CCC rating from the factory. This may be a completely stripped down configuration that you are quoting. I have no idea. But do you know what the tongue weight is for a 385FL ready to camp? Do you know the hitch itself is 300#? Do you know how much OP and all of their contents and passengers weigh? I sure don't.

The brochure or internet ratings are generally based on basic model truck with no options.
The vin sticker on the door jamb will list ratings for each specific truck. The vin sticker is required by law for each vehicle.
Every vehicle is equipped differently thus the need for individualized ratings and stickers
In order to accurately determine the ability of a truck the vin sticker needs to be the source of the parameters not a brochure or internet chart

To all,

We had the 385fl fully loaded, 'camp ready', when when we had the all wheel weigh done at the National Rally. When we ordered our unit we upgraded to the 8,000 lb axles giving the unit a 19000 gvw due to the huge amount of storage and adding the washer/dryer. We would have easily exceeded the gvw of 16,800. Running around 17,500 lbs.

When we were weighed, we were well within all parameters with some tolerance for more gear. The washer dryer and the rear tray storage allow this unit to be balance loaded allowing us not to exceed the pin weight over the rear axles of the truck or the truck gvw. Really love the 6.6l diesel and 10 speed trans.

The truck and rig are a perfect match and we are towing legal.

Next time we have the rig out I will get the weight analysis posted on here for all to see how the numbers worked.

Hope this helps,

Bruce

What was your pin weight?

Im currently in the process of buying a 22 paradigm 295 mk, my max capacity says 3459, but only 3360 before 11500. but i have 3650 available on my rear axle and 1245 on the front totalling 4895. Even if i calculate a pin of 22% at 15000lbs i have rear axle room but im over 11500. So i cool
mine (empty full fuel)max limits
steer
4740
5985
drive
3400
7050
trailer
total
8140
11500
towing 5er
17200

As long as you are calculating all other payload items: Fuel, you and passengers, hitch weight, dog and any other stuff in bed/cab.

As long as those items and the pin weight do not exceed the 11500, you will probably be good.

Good luck,

Bruce

That is a good looking unit and I think you are right. You would really have to load the front basement storage to go over.

Good luck with your purchase. Where are you located?

Bruce

Florida. I really wish someone who actually had one would list their actual pin weights I'm really really curious I'm definitely taking it to the skill as soon as I pick it up and take it home just to see
