12v power point in basement

I’m installing Starlink 12v power adapter thingy in the basement of our 310rl. I need to pull power off somewhere but probably need 10 amps so might go directly to bus bar over battery compartment.
Plan was to put a shutoff switch up near the control center but have been unable to get a wire up thru the wall. I can get my camera thru partway but then all I see is sawdust and wood scraps. The old joke about electricians not owning a vacuum cleaner sure is true here.
My thought now is to put a switch under the step as I think I can access that. I don’t want to have to go outside every night to shut Starlink off that would be a pain.
Anybody else do anything like this?

Not a bad idea, I have not seen that before. I imagine it would have a small current draw? I can’t imagine it would be much.

I brought the 12v supply off busbar in front compartment. Drilled hole from pass-through to front, to allow the wire to come through. Then wired up the "up converter" (12 to 36v) and mounted it behind the water panel (image 1). From there I have a switch to allow me to turn it on/off when we get to camp. I am not worried about leaving it "on" overnight, but if you want to save power, you can simply use the app to have it turn on/off at your set times...like off at 11pm and back on a 6am. In image 2 you can see the on/off switch and the cable coming out of the barrel plug to power the Starlink mini

I did not know you could use the app to shut it off or set on/ off times, that is pretty handy information. We have some relatives that like to “borrow” our service when camping even though they have their own Starlink they don’t want to pay for unlimited, so I want to be able to accidentally shut ours off.
My plan is to mount a 12 v plug on each side of the basement so I can use it for Starlink when boondocking or connect a 12 v air compressor if I need to air up the camper tires. So might need a 20a circuit. Looking at the awning switches in the basement I think I could steal power from one of them.

I think I will use the app to control Starlink when we are hooked to shore power and running off 110 during our winter stay down south. When we are boondocking a lot of times we do not have cell service so using the app would be a problem. So I will connect to 12 V then and use the relay to control it.
Problem solved, thanks for your help!

You'd be directly connect to Starlink via WiFi....no cell service needed to use the app. This is how I do it when we are out of cell coverage, which as it turns out is a LOT of our camping locations.

I was thinking Starlink was like my Polaris app, it won’t start without cell coverage.
This is my setup I can switch from 12v to 110v pretty easily I will probably be on 110 all winter as we don’t move, then just leave it on 12 v all summer I put in a 12v socket and pulled power off the basement slide switch, I figured we wouldn’t be using both at the same time IMG_9875.jpeg
