We have a 2026 Delta Alliance model 252rl, built in August 2025, the 12 volt furnace is controlled by thermostat in bedroom, which works off of the 2nd leg of 50 amp service. How can I get furnace to work when boon docking? Kind of defeats the whole idea of having a 12 volt ducted furnace that can only work when connected to 50 amp service. The thermostat is a furion, mounted on wall in bedroom on back side of adjacent wall of bathroom. Should the thermostat work off of 12 volt instead of 120 ac? Anyone else have this problem?

Yes the furnace should work off of 12 volts. You do not have to be plugged in to use the furnace. As long as your battery is charged the furnace will work. If you are doing extended boondocking, you will need some way to keep the battery charged via solar or generator but you do not need 120 volts for the furnace to work It should work off the 12 Volt battery without issue or modifications.
Of course you also need propane in order for the furnace to work.

Thank you for the reply. It's with Blue Compass dealership as I write this. Have also just emailed service@ alliancerv.com to get some clarification on how my unit should be able to work 12 volt furnace without 120 volt ac ( 50 amp) service connected. Hopefully, I'll get an answer from Alliance or Blue Compass as to what is wrong with our unit soon. ( The 12 volt refrigerator and 12 volt on demand water heater all work without 50 amp service. The 12 volt furnace works as it should when connected to 50 amp service, just need to get thermostat to work with 12 volt supply is my guess at this time.)
