A few weeks ago the pigtail on one of my propane tanks developed a leak. I bought a couple replacements at a local RV store. The first one I couldn’t get the threads started so I switched to the second one which leaked around the collar. I then decided to try a Camco brand & purchased one from Amazon. It leaked as well. So 0 for 3 - getting frustrated. Can anyone recommend a brand? Thanks

After three failures, I would think it might be another reason and not the pigtail. The odds of that are pretty high!
I agree have you considered the entire auto switchover maybe bad. 3 bad pigtails is highly unlikely.
Not sure what your dealing with do the connections need teflon tape?
I was always taught that gas systems (propane and NG) should not have Teflon tape used in them, small bits of tape can torn loose and eventually clog up the tiny gas orifices. Pipe dope, yes.
They actually make a tape designed for lp and NG.

Teflon tape for gas use
Start with brush applied soapy water on all connections, swivels and regulator seams/vent holes. Look for bubble build up.
There was a time Teflon tape was frowned on and pipe dope was the gold standard. Carefully applied tape, with no loose ends hanging over the end of the fitting, is acceptable. I still prefer dope.

Yes. That was how i pinpointed the problem.
By the way there were 2 leak failures. The third failure was with the threads on the small fitting, not able to start the fitting threading on.
Actually both tape and dope can and will clog orifices if not applied properly.
