Lippert hydraulic pump issues

Has anyone had any problems with their Lippert hydraulic pump? Lippert recommends upgrading the 50 amp auto set breaker to a 80 amp manual breaker. Particularly if you are having problems where the slide outs stop during travel. Attached is the document from Lippert.

Upgraded also with the blue sea 80 amp and also upgraded the wire (most will say it’s not necessary but Alliance does recommends it). Use to time out when retracting, now it even seems to operate a little faster.

Response from Alliance, funny I have never heard about this upgrade. Don’t forget to also upgrade your cabling.

So just to be clear, many folks based on their camping style never experience any issue. The issue usually surfaces in colder weather where the oil is thicker causing the amp draw to increase.

Personally, I have the upgrade on my to do list, likely in the offseason, we haven’t had any issue to date, but we don’t do much cold weather camping.

I am glad that they recognized it is a problem under certain conditions and have published an official upgrade/fix.

Mainly only camp in warm weather. Mine started pausing every time I retracted the landing gear. This did fix it. Figured I had a weak circuit breaker and stumbled upon this fix. Oddly enough the slides and putting the landing gear down was never an issue.

When I first got my paradigm a buddy suggested I upgrade to 80 amp breakers. He even sent me a set.
However I was new to the rig and did not know where to install them so I just added the breakers to my to do list but never replaced the originals.
3 years later my originals are still working fine.
Alliance is aware of the issue and have circulated a fix, but the breaker issue certainly does not impact everyone.
Cold weather does seem to expose the issue.

That is odd, you would think that the issue would be more prone to surface when extending the gear. None the less , I am glad the fix worked for you.

I just noticed on my 24 310 when operating jacks extending went from 12.6 to 11 and when retracting front jacks went to 10.8 on control panel, that was no shore power. Goes back to 12,4 after operating jacks. Hook up shore power jumped to 13v and did not drop below 12v. Batteries ar 2 1/2 year old 100 amp hour gel batteries. When I checked both batteries disconnected with volt meter they showed 12.98.

There is a problem with the diagram that Alliance provides for this upgrade! I don't how big a deal it is but...
They show that the silver terminal of the existing breaker connects to the battery and it should be the copper colored terminal.
Then they show the same mis-wire on the new breaker.
The parts are clearly marked BAT on their respective terminals.
When installing this upgrade use the guide as a guide but pay attention to the part mfg markings.
