Dishwasher prep

Strange that they would bury an icemaker 1230 volt outlet, where it isn't even accessible in the refrigerator box.

Here is my frig box, with only the microwave outlet (top left of picture). The microwave cord can been seen in the top section of the cabinet between frig and microwave.

Hi Jim,

Can’t say its the same on your 340 RL . But for sure the outlet is hidden behind the lower RH stove cabinets false wall.
Two screws to remove the wall and expose the ice maker outlet.

Certainly it is easier to access there instead of being inside the refrigerator box which likely would require removal if someone needed to access.

Thanks guys,
I'm mid task on installing a LiFePO battery and have no power in the coach at all. I should be finished this morning and I'll then look for a receptacle that could be used for an ice maker. However, I have the Norcold N20 and the installation manual says nothing about any 120vac requirement. Though the receptacle could be left over from when Alliance switched from Everchill (if it's a brand that needs 120vac). Don't get me started on the problem with hiding a receptacle behind a wall!
Also I'm confident that I have no load-shedding EMS or any provision for one. I'm very interested in seeing Lantley's picture though.

You're most likely correct. However, the problem still exists with finding the the power cord. You can see the cord rolled up in this picture, of our 4th Norcold frig being installed. :(

Would be very hard for someone to actually know where the cord is, let alone reach back there and grab it to power the ice maker. Oh...you have to find the water line too...more fun. I think the only way to really install the icemaker, is to remove frig so you can get to everything...IMHO of course :)

Ok...found the mystery plug where Bryan said it would be. Now...that "box" is holding on by a thread. No way could I ever unplug a cord from it, without the whole thing coming off the wall.

I am guess the line with the blue arrow is the incoming power (you would think it comes from the floor...and the red arrow is the line to the dishwasher. Still can't wrap my head around the romex that appears to be going up the wall...why up??

I too found the mystery outlet! It is controlled by the circuit breaker labeled DISHWASHER.
We should get a "Welcome" box for finding out something Alliance doesn't know. 😜 (Still haven't found an alligator sticker LOL)
In my case ('24 310RL) the fridge is in the slide so the flexible 120vac cable has to be converted to Romex by a Molex connector (white device wrapped in blue tape). The plug goes behind the wall towards the fridge. We don't use the ice maker but I guess I'll plug it back in.
Still shocked (pun in 10 did) that the Norcold needs 120 for the ice maker.
Thank you all for the assist.

Hey Jim,

Your is a very different set up then ours. Mine matches the picture that George posted. I did validate which circuit it is on today. Like George’s it is controlled by the dishwasher circuit as I suspected.

This forum is a powerful tool, allowing others to share their experiences and knowledge.

It really is a shame that Alliance’s technical folks are not aware of how the individual systems are installed on their coaches.

Just other example of how a build standard and electrical diagrams would help the customer base.

Hey George,

Glad I could help solve the mystery!, I agree, wonder who we send our address to to get the welcome box!😂
Like you we have a 2024 310 RL and ours matches the picture you posted, an like you it is controlled by the dishwasher breaker(I validated this today with a circuit tester).

I took a different approach and left it un plugged given we don’t use the ice make as well.

Just FYI, the Norcord Manual does mention it, that is actually how I became aware of the need for its 120v AC.

I to am very interested to see Lantley’s set up.

Glad the mystery is solved!

My DW circuit is wired to some sort of transfer switch that Alliance claims is designed to allow fireplace and DW to load share same circuit.
This is what George posted earlier in this thread.
MY DW circuit is wired to that box however the other output of that box feeds my sofa outlets not the fireplace.
I think the whole idea of load sharing the DW and FP is bizarre. Maybe tomorrow I will try to get some pictures of that box.
Hi Lantley, any chance you had the opportunity to take a few pictures of your set up?

I am very curious to see what your load sharing circuit consists of.

Best regards
Bryan
