Reinforcing back wall (Video)

I had my rear wall on my Avenue come loose. Alliance has a specific document that outlines the repair process on this, including the use of structural rivets and loctite. The structural rivets are very important for assuring the wall stays in place. I would suggest consulting that document prior to the repair process. This document was originally put out for the Paradigm line. In newer products Alliance is now fastening the wall to the frame and not relying on the angle iron.

For the record my 22 390 MP back wall came loose. Once I remove sofa to investigate and make repair,
I found there were no screws in the Angle bracket that secured the wall to the floor!
Screws were all missing.... never install!
This made the repair easy:eek: Added screws and its been fine ever since.

My 370FB backwall was swinging in the wind and tried the same fix Rick did and it did not work (I tried that before Alliance fix). Not only did I do the Alliance fix, I also added 90 degree brackets to the frame and back wall. These can be added, without removing the fenders. My wall was moving so much, it bend the sheet metal fenders and damaged my side storage on each side of the couch. I posted the Alliance fix, along with the yellow added fix I did.

My sheet metal fenders look just like yours. Very irritating.

Alliance covered the expense of the materials and sent new sheet metal to me as well as screws and corner brackets. I did the repairs and up sized the hardware and screws as well. I had to use shears to cut my own fenders, but that gave me the excuse to buy an attachment for my drill to cut the metal. Give them a call and see if they will send you the replacement metal.

I'm way out of warranty. The repair is relatively minor. It's amazing the wall stayed put for as long as it did with no screws in it.
I generally don't play the RV warranty game if I don't have to. Just fixing it myself is less aggravating.
I did obtain a new fender panel that I will install before Spring.

I am the same regarding doing the warranty work myself, but the cost of shipping parts from factory to NC pushed me to go for the free option on the fenders. However, I have been sending proof of my warranty repairs to Alliance, so the recall repairs having been performed is well documented for eventual resale.

I was able to get the panel without paying shipping (friend happened to be in Indiana and pick it up)!
As far as resale. I tend to keep my RV a long time and modify them as I see fit along the way. 10-15 years later at resale time my unit will be in good shape but not necessarily pristine or in original factory condition.
I'm more concerned with using and enjoying my unit in the here and now vs. being concerned with resale or what the future owners will think or desire.

This is my first RV and resisting the urge to move into a toy hauler. Domestic negotiations concerning needs and wants are ongoing...LOL

I hear you on the toyhauler. There was a time that toyhaulers appealed to me, but I think I have past that point in life...LOL
I don't have the energy/desire for the toys anymore.
I let my Ebike Suffice! With that in mind my mid bunk room has basically become my E bike storage room. Kids have grown up but the RV remains.
Ebikes now live in the mid bunk room. I don't load and unload each trip. I ride 90% of trips but when I don't the bikes just stays in the bunk room, Sort of my toyhauler compromise.
I get to have a rear living room with a place to haul bikes inside, no loading and unloading each trip. Bikes are not exposed to the weather.
This is my 3rd RV, I've learned to adjust the RV I have to fit my evolving needs vs. buying a new unit to fit my needs.
As life evolves , kids get older, RV use change, destinations change, But I still keep the same rig for a long time and adjust the RV accordingly.
So far I have been able to alter my RV to meet life's changes.
