Opinions on covering solar panels during winter

Although I suspect I know the answer, what does the community think about covering the solar panels during winter outdoor storage? My main concern is basically stuff contacting the panels or them being exposed all winter while not in use. I will not be covering the trailer itself.

IMHO....No cover needed. Unless you're parked under a giant walnut tree, the panels are made to withstand the elements.

I keep our solar(and rig)uncovered and the solar master disconnect turned on all year long. It keeps the battery topped off while in storage for the winter. I have done this since we have had the rig. Heading into our third winter using this approach.

Hi Bob. No need to cover solar panels. To give yourself a little more confidence, you can look up the manufacturer's testing data. When we were researching solar for our home, they all had that data available and the performance was pretty consistent; though the testing is an accelerated model (but proven reliable...almost too stringent according to most PV manufacturers).
