GenY gooseneck hitch

Although ours is a 310RL, I thought I would chirp in. We have had no issues with our GenY Executive hitch (ie gooseneck) with one exception: our MPG went from 10.4 to 9.2. I would have thought it would have gone up instead. However, I am happy to pay for an empty truck bed with that.

Good luck and have fun!

Ok I will bite here!

Do you have thoughts on why your fuel mileage decreased and why you would have thought it to increase with the GenY?

We have one as well, but it has been installed since day 1, so I have no comparison.

Interesting on the mileage. I’ve read and watched an embarrassing amount of material on the Gen Y and only heard owners report increases in mileage. I did some quick research, after your post, on why mileage might go up or down with a Gen Y vs a traditional fifth wheel hitch. Could go either way for a lot of reasons. Appreciate the post as it forced me to kind of abandon my confirmation bias on Gen Y improving mileage.
