We have a tankless instant on hot water heater in our 292RL and we absolutly hate it. It wastes so much water! We'd prefer the old fashion 6 gallon water gas/electric heater

Agree. I hate it. Something that would help is the shower miser water diverter I had in my Rockwood. You could divert water back into the fresh tank until the hot water started to flow, instead of going into the grey tank. Huge water saver. I’m surprised Alliance hasn’t done this

Do you think or is there a way to change/swap it out? We figured out we waste a lot of water and gas at regular sites and the water doesn’t get hot to where we have it set.

If you are having some temperature issues with the tankless there are 2 things to try.
1st - Only turn the hot water on. Set the temp for what you want and only turn the hot water faucet on. If you turn the cold on, it can effect the flow rate through the water heater
2nd - Ensure the faucets for the outdoor spray ports are turned off. The way some units were plumbed, if the outdoor faucets are turned on, and a hot water faucet in the coach is opened, it can allow some of the cold water in the mixing chamber of the outdoor faucets to enter the hot water lines going into the coach.
