Just did our driver side door too. Here are before (roughly...forgot to take real "before") and after on our 340RLI thought of that, but I didn't know if that would mess up the geometry and not let it close. I did that on the basement door on the Nautilus side and it does open more, but I didn't move it much.
100%!!! Our prior 5th wheel (Heartland Bighorn) was also FBP and it sold within 3 days of listing it for full asking price. We would get it professionally washed/waxed every other year...and it showed. 7 years old, and this is what is looked like 30 days before we sold it. Looked brand new!! We we placed the order for our 340RL, there was no doubt about ordering with FBP.You know I like Full Body Paint. But I'm also to cheap/frugal /thrifty to pay for it.
What I have observed is that a FBP unit next to a standard unit when they are both new is not what sets FBP apart.
However a FBP unit vs. a standard paint job when they are both 10 years old is like night and day.
The FBP really sets itself apart as the units age and the decals fade. The FBP unit still looks brand new vs. the worn 10 year old standard paint job.
The moral to the story is, I'll wish I had ordered FBP 10 years from now!![]()
Well...you could always drive over to Sisters and wax another one if you get bored.Love our FBP!
I wax it every spring. Paint makes a big difference while you own and enjoy it and when you go to sell it.
LOL 😂Well...you could always drive over to Sisters and wax another one if you get bored.![]()

...Once you get it on that red truck and see how it brings out the metallic candy apple color you will be waxing it all the time. You can do the entire truck in like a half hour.
I love how some posts branch off and take on a life of their own.Which one do you have now? Guessing it is the LGP8-200-80?
If you move it back (toward headboard) I think it would lift the bed higher.
- The 200 means 20.00 extended
- The LGP8 means 8" of strutt stroke
- The "80" mean 80lbs of force
That 2x3 is held in by 2-3 screws. Just take it off and leave the struts attached to it. Ours came off all on its own about 10 days ago...easy to put back on.You're right Jim, what you listed is what I have. I can't move the top as it's attached to a 2X3 under the mattress platform. But I can move the bottom towards the foot. I'll move that a couple of inches and see what happens. It'll be awhile before I do that, but when I do, I'll post my findings.
Thank youWe put on 20 inch 150lb struts by Arana on Amazon. Works great and have not had to beef up hinges, yet.
Hope this helps ,
Thank you tooSame story with new mattress. Just used the same struts but moved the bottom pivot point towards the foot of the bed 4 1/4”. Alliance is using them too flat and not using them effectively.
