Bed Storage Questions 23-25 F35 CC SB

Hello, everyone,

I have a question about storage solutions for my truck. While my inquiry is about a specific vehicle, I believe there may be solutions that others are using in their GM or Stellantis vehicles that could also be helpful.

In my previous truck, a Ram with the RamBoxes, I absolutely loved the convenience and functionality of that feature. Now, I’m looking for a solution for my current truck bed that meets the following criteria:

  • Fits in the truck bed alongside a fifth-wheel hitch.
  • Is weathertight to protect the contents.
  • Provides a relatively secure storage space.
  • Can hold items such as diesel additives, funnels, straps, a mini compressor, gloves, and similar tools or supplies.
I’m particularly interested to know if anyone has successfully used the DuHa Humpstor (https://du-ha.com/products/du-ha-humpstor) in a truck bed with a fifth-wheel hitch installed. I’m also considering investing in the OEM Ford Side Cases, but I have the same question about clearance for both these options.

My primary concern is whether either of these solutions would provide enough clearance in the truck bed, given that I’m using a B&W Companion slider hitch manufactured in 2025.

If you’ve found other storage solutions that fit these criteria and work well, I’d love to hear your recommendations and experiences.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!

Are you planning to not have a Tonneau cover on your truck? I have the ReTrax Pro on our F-450 and love it. It gives me confidence my gear is safe enough. Of course someone could get in if they really had the time/skills, which would be the same of the locking devices you have shown above.

I have no real world knowledge the on Humpstor, but it sure looks like it might interfere with the 5th wheel pin box

I have that same cover and love it. I just have a tool box, professional ratchet and wrench set and torque wrench tucked up under the roll box of the ReTrax Pro. Works great going down the road out of the way.

Yep....I have my stuff under the canister as well. I have four small black totes that fit perfectly under it. These are items I don't need to use (rackets, air hose, flares, pop up cones, etc...) very often.

I just bought a Brute 80-RB257D Tailgate Tool Box. Fits under my bed cover and the doors are secure when tailgate is closed/locked. I also recommend the Conntek 11110-024EX 7-Way Travel Trailer Extension Cord since the 7-pin will be difficult to reach.

I do like that very much. Thank you! I may go with something like that if I can't find a solution that fids on the bedside, inside the bed, preferably over the wheel well.

I do. I have a Rough Country retractable cover (not my favorite probably changing). Thanks for the insight on the humpstor. Any thoughts on the Ford product?

I might have to suck it up! I got spoiled by those RamBoxes! I really like being able to just reach in at the bed side to get what I need.
