We use 3 Arlo door bell cameras for security which use our Peplink router for internet signal.1000001879.jpg

Nice idea, but I think I would mount them higher to avoid the cameras being stolen.

Never thought about them being stolen? Do we worry about our basic Ring cameras bei8ng stolen? I guess they are harder to steal. They are mounted with tamper proof screws.
Mounting higher would make them harder to vandalize.

Not to worried about someone stealing my cameras ON CAMERA. Plus they have a siren feature i can set off or call the park and have someone check things out if we are away. I would bet 99 percent of people wouldn't even know they are there. 7 years of use and I still have them.

I am a seasonal camper in a campground. IMO, using something obvious may piss off your neighbors as they feel like they are being surveilled. I know I would feel this way if I knew there was a camera pointing into my camp area. I am looking at something more discreet, smaller that will accoumplish the same thing but neighbors will not know it it there. I would think that if you do not know your neighbors may not be as big of a deal. Not saying this is wrong, but just my thoughts on it. thx

Lots of techniques for security but, just in terms of discreet video, Panasonic makes a nice security camera called the HomeHawk that mounts to the inside of a window with a flat suction mount, can't be seen from the outside until you're right in front of it and has a low profile from the inside. Nice image and motion tracking both day and night, footage is stored locally on an SD card, no cloud service required, and accessible in the app when the camera has a wifi connection. If you're wired up with always-on power and internet, these cameras will record and stream continuously for you for just the cost of the camera and an SD card.

I like my Smartthings. I have a lot for home and setup a second for the RV. I do a lot of automation and convenience options along with security. Most of which is setup with Google Voice commands. Before someone asks yes one could use Alexa, but I use Google. Just because of preference.
