CHECK FOR WATER LEAK where hose goes into rv

I just discovered that my basement floor around where the hose/cable and etc come into the basement is water logged! It has leaking for awhile since it feels like a sponge.

I guess I assumed (wrong) that the tray would stop any water from going into the floor.

It appears that the plastic retainer where the hose goes into wasn't sealed and the extra water spill from disconnection/connection the hose has gone into the OSB floor.

It looks like I'm going to have to cut out a section of the basement floor and replace it. It looks like a Spring time activity.


I put white sealant to show where you need to check sealant.

Hopefully the damage is not too severe. I placed Ring Alarm water sensors in that area and in the area of the hot water heater in our 310RL for just that reason. I keep physically checking as well due to OCD tendenties I have...but better safe that sorry. Have never received an alert yet, and hopefully won't, but a little piece of mind is there - at least for us. Just my .02 - Bill

Not sure what is going on with your image. That should be a open cutout circle, with direct access to ground. Yours looks like it wasn't even cutout. How have you been bringing your water line into the RV?

BTW...we have the GoVee water sensors. Saved us this summer when we had a leak behind the water panel.

Yea, you should be able to see straight down. I put my water hose and starlink cable through that round hole. This is not my picture, just off internet...however it shows your their hose coming up through the round hole.

I guess I didn't make my self clear. But thanks for the input. All I was really trying to express is make sure that the blackcover is SEALED around the edge or water will sipped into the floor board. The black cover (where the hose comes in) was allowing water to get under the black cover. from there it went into the osb....over the years, not just one day. I just never that about this issue.

Most of the water was just the little dripping that comes from putting a hose on or off.....

The bottomline is the black cover was NOT sealed and the excess water from years of connecting the water got into the osb wood.

sensors are great when you have lots of water but this is just something else.
again, make sure that the black cover is sealed around its edge.

and yes, i will have to repair the damaged area....hopefully not more that a few feet of osb.

This thread was intended to make all the alliance owners aware of the black cover not being sealed...nothing more.

Is that image correct? Is your round hose pass thru not fully open? It looks as though you cannot pass a hose through that opening.
If that opening is obstructed, I imagine you would have a water issue if the water does not have a clear path to the ground below.

Boy I guess I confuse people. I TOOK the black connector out to dry the wood.
Don't over think this post. Just check to make sure it is sealed.

It was just an example. I removed the black connector where the hose goes through. It's not about the hose

If you lift the lid /flap is the entire 3" diameter opening clear? There should be no OSB blocking the opening. The picture appears to show wood beneath the flap? Maybe that's not the actual case.

I can't believe the comments I am getting. check your lid/flap on the outside. if it is NOT sealed IT will get into your OSB floor. there is nothing to stop it! Lantley I am surprised you are even saying what you said.
again, if the circular black lid (outer edge) is NOT sealed water will sip into your floor since the floor is right under it. The black tray that protects the pump and etc has OSB right under it.
The only thing I wanted to tell everyone is CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE RING IS SEALED!

The image caused the confusion. Note Oregon Camper questioned the image prior to my post.
From the image you posted its not clear if the pass thru is fully open nevertheless sealed.
