I was staying at a rather unlevel site. It was high in the rear and low in the front.
Typically I put 6x6 blocks under front jacks, but because I needed more height to be level and avoid out of stroke error. I also used a 4x6 block on top of 6x6 blocks. I had a total of about 9" of solid wood block beneath my front jacks.
I hit auto level and get out of stroke error of Right front jack. I eyeball everything and decide I'm level enough, I did not think it necessary to hook trailer back up to truck and to add more height and reset blocks.
Well that may have been my fatal mistake.
The slides went out fine and the trailer felt nice and level.
However at the end of the weekend when I went to hook up front jacks would not retract. They lowered 6" inches or so and then I got a Excessive angle error. I could not retract jacks manually or via auto hitch feature.
Essentially I was stuck. I even tried to use the retract all feature figuring it would lower trailer on to hitch, but auto retract also gave me excessive angle error message.
Now I'm facing my worst night mare of being stuck at the campground unable to hook up sort of dead in the water.
After a bit of desperate online research, I learned the only way to clear the excessive angle error was to recalibrate the level system.
I followed the recalibrate procedure and Wa-La! The leveling system came back to life and I was able to hook up.
Hopefully this post will keep someone else from having an excessively frustrating hook up experience.
A final note, the recalibrate procedure did clear the error and get me going. But I also had to recalibrate level system again when I got home to properly zero the system.
