Camera Prep?

On the Alliance web site it talks about Camera Prep. Does anyone know what this means? Are there wires in the back in the trailer and if so, where do they connect to in the front of the trailer?

There is just 12 volt power at the back of the trailer (behind a plug where your camera would mount) there is a switch for that power with all the other switches in the cabinet.
There is no coax so about the only way you could use it would be with a wireless camera.

Ok, thanks for the info

I installed the Haloview 1080 on my 340rl in just a few minutes. There is a round plastic cap top center on the back and if you pry it out there are wires to connect and mount the rear camera.

Not to high-Jack the thread, but I have a factory Ford trailer camera kit which is a wired system that is inter geared into the trucks infotainment system. Has anyone installed a wired trailer backup camera in a 32rls yet? I am considering running the wire externally down the back of the trailer and along the underside to reach the truck but I would prefer to get this done correctly by hiding the wires. Is there a wire pull from the roof to one of the compartments that I could use?

Thanks for the info. Found the pipe, but it’s the only white cap on the roof. Ran the wire up the middle of the roof and straight under the cap. Dropped in near the middle of the basement.

Not done yet, only done for the day.

Awesome! Happy I could help, although the change of color could have ended poorly....

I wonder why they didn't follow their pattern of making the chase black and the vents white.

I installed the Ford Camera on my 32RLS, but went down the ladder and across and above the belly and up to the drivers side propane compartment. Getting the cable from the front storage to the pin box was the toughest part. Very little room in there at the front ceiling of the storage compartment, as a part of the frame block access to that area. Took a lot of patience, but finally got it through.

Thanks for the info. I got mine installed yesterday and I’m really have with the results.

I ran the wire along the middle of the roof until I got to the factory installed wire pull. That dropped into the basement, so I drilled a hole fro there into the forward compartment. I ran the lead from the truck back into the forward compartment through the pin box. From there, all the excess wire is coiled and secured.

I mounted the camera below the marker lights using command strips, but will likely need to replace them later. The command strips hold 16lbs a piece, and I used two.

Hey, does anyone have the side cameras vision S by curation? Wondering how I can get power to side cameras without the parking lights lite while parked for surveillance!

You will need to install your own power and ground circuits. Depending on the number or cameras you plan to install, I would recommend a fused buss bar set up.

Can the camera operate without the light being on? Or do you know if these are wired separately?
Well, I hope I have not misled you. I was answering in the context of a stand alone camera, assuming you just wanted to pull power from the clearance light circuit. I have no knowledge of the exact camera system you are asking about, an if I understand your post correctly it appears to be a light and camera combo unit. It would be best to contact the manufacturer to see if your system allows for camera only operation regardless of light operation. Sorry if I misunderstood your original post.

I made 2 videos of my Haloview install where I hooked up the side view cameras to the switch on the master panel. You can also come off the battery with a switch and fuse. I thought it was better to have them all on one switch

Hi Rich,
Not to hijack this post, but it was the most recent so I'm using this one. When you installed your original back-up camera did you just run screws through the back wall? Is there anything in there for them to draw up tight in? I'm leery of putting holes in my brand new trailer.
Thanks,
Dave
