Winterizing Furrion Water Heater

Hi. I know it is just August, but in pre-reading about winterizing our new 2024 Delta 292RL (which we love), I have come across many posts from another RV company's customers (Grand Design) and they mention after winterizing their Tankless water heater, they discover in the Spring that the mixing bowl was cracked and that Furrion is no longer making those types (2022). Our new Delta has a Furrion FWH09AFA. I am hoping this is the newest model that allows antifreeze into that "vortex" mixer so no freezing can occur. Looking forward to hearing from fellow Delta owners as we just joined the forum. Thanks, Rob.

I would interested in the topic as well for my 2025 Avenue 25RK that we will getting this month.
The National Rv training academy say you don't need to blow out the hot water heater, you just run antifreeze through it. Most others are says you need to blow out the lines. What do you think?

I currently own a 2022 Grand Design 337RLS with the Furrion Tankless water heater (we have an Alliance 23ML on order)..
The issues with winterizing the Furrion Tankless water are very true (at least for the first generation I have). Using the pink anti-freeze is not enough based on how the internal copper lines are run in the Furrion and the postion of the mixing bowl. Much has been written on it over at the Grand Design owners forum (mygrandrv). Highly suggest you check out the modified winterizing instruction that can be found there.

Scroll down to post #17. He covers how to properly winterize the Furrion. Hope this helps.
