Basement storage

We have a new 29RL that will be here in 2 weeks and thinking about a storage tray/slide out in the basement and just wanting some thoughts on that. We are getting tired of unloading the basement to get to the 1 thing buried in the middle. Brands, easiest, most efficient, cost and just thoughts on different things. Much appreciated as I have gotten a wealth of great thoughts and ideas from this forum. Thanks 7acmike

We had the Morryde cargo tray installed during the National Rally last year and LOVE it! You can jump to about 2:24 mark in this video (first part is the Morryde hitch install) to see how they installed it and how it turned out.

Jim, you inspired me to go and spend some $$$$.
I've been putting off getting one of those MorRyde cargo slide-outs for our 310RL for a while, but now I think it's time.
As for my Victron Multiplus II upgrade, that will have to wait a little longer still.

I’m looking at installing the sliding tray but thought I’d ask opinion on size for my Avenue 38DBL. I’d like the 90” so it can slide from either side. However, in my basement the center is raised so 90” would hang off both sides. Plenty of room for the doors to close but concerned about the overhang. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

Wait...what? The pass-through storage in your Avenue is not level?:unsure:

Morryde offers different risers in a few different heights, so mabye you need to figure out which riser would get you to level with the raised middle section.

Here is what it looks like. Raised area is 80”.

Oh sure...that clears that up for me.

I would contact Morryde to determine the best solution for this. I would think you would want the slide to go back over the open area, so you can stack stuff there, without being limited due to the slide hanging over. Having used ours for over a year now, I would also get one that is NOT 100% of the width. Leave some space on the side to slide in long/tall items.

As an alternative idea, here's what I found works well for my 29RL.

The 15 gallon totes from Lowes (link) are sized such that they can be double stacked and still allow easy access. The 29RL basement allows for 6 of those to be stored, plus still leaves some room for chairs/toolbox. I've got my 6 labeled (Campsite, Fire, Chemicals, Washer, Hoses, Tools in case you are curious) and feel like it's a perfect use of the space.

Just ordered a 2025 Paradigm 385FL. Anyone know what size morryde sliding tray will fit in the front storage Basement?

Will take a picture when we are back in over Thanksgiving week, but basic layout is 4 (double stacked) positioned side to side on the drivers side to middle of the basement, and then 2 positioned front to back on the passenger side. Kind of a big J shape. That still allows for storing the folding chairs on the left inside the passenger side entrance next to the totes.

After looking at it again the layout is actually more T shape. Here are some pics with 6 totes in there. The ones in the middle are used less so not too big a deal to occasionally get to them.
