Why it is good to service your own bearings...

I know a lot of people just use the easy-lube fitting to pump grease into their bearings. Personally, I prefer to pull the hubs, take a peek inside, and re-pack the bearings.

Well, I was getting ready for an upcoming trip yesterday and upon pulling the passenger side front hub I found the magnet had broken off its bracket and hanging by the wires. Inside of hub is scared up and parts of the bracket were laying in the bottom. I have no idea how long this has been this way (I purchased the trailer new in May 2023) but this could have been a disaster if it had jammed into the hub while traveling.

So, for those of you who might be nervous about taking apart your wheels, don't be, it is easy to do and there are lots of good videos online that explain it. I just build a stack of linx blocks and drive one wheel up onto the blocks. This lifts the other wheel off the ground and I can safely work on it.
