Static charge wins!! Lol. I think I burned up our bedroom thermostat with a static discharge from my finger. The screen went completely blank. I removed the fuse on the backside of the thermostat and replaced. The digital screen partially came back ( does not change from 19) but the only thing that operates is the fan in all modes. Compressor does not kick in to cool. I'm thinking the static charge entered through the temp probe on the bottom of the thermostat and ruined it?
Replacement on Amazon $70 bucks (ouch)!!
I guess for now I'll swap the thermostat from the garage since we rarely use that AC.
Does any one have any experience with a different brand/type 12 volt cool only thermostat I should consider?
