Macerator toilet stopped working. Fuse is good, 2V across POWER SOURCE on electronic box while hooked up. 12.8V on power wire disconnected from box. 2V with only power wire connected to box. I’m concluding that the electronic box is dead
Is this a new issue that popped up? There are several posts about folks finding incorrect wiring on their control boxes causing poor operation of the toilet. Just search macerator,.
If wiring is correct, it could be a bad box, But for it to draw 12.8 v down to 2 v when hooked up it would all most have to be a dead short in my opinion. Surprised that a fuse isn’ t blowing.
It also could be a voltage drop issue from a poor/loose connection on either the power or ground circuit. This would explain why your measured voltage drops so much when you attach the wire.
This is a example of how meters can lead you astray sometimes, they tell you the voltage of an unloaded circuit when checking wires not hooked to any load.
The device load can drop the measured voltage dramatically when it attempts to pull current on a comprised circuit.
If you know the circuit rating, you could use it to power something else as a test, say like a light for example to help prove your findings one way or another.
