Yep. The question made no sense. What I meant to say was can the steps be removed without damaging the strut? And assuming the strut has to be removed, could it be reattached later when we sell the rig? Right now we are stationary for the next couple of years and would like to add Custom steps to make it easier on the pets and us.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum!

I wouldn’t see why not, they should be screwed into the coach and fully removable. Some folks actually change them out for different types. I believe that the strut is part of the hinge assembly. If some care is taken during removal, I see no reason why they couldn’t be reinstalled later.

Congratulations & Welcome to the forum from Oregon! wishing you many memorable adventures,,,Enjoy your new rig!👍🍀🌞!
Live in ours stTionary & full time,,,left the stairs down & boxed them into weathertight removable cover under removable stairs for when we want/ need to pull our rig out. But yes per our dealer service department discussions before we went our route,,,,it is doable and they have treatment suggestions to weatherproof the screw & attachment penetrations,,,,👍🍀 talk w other members and Alliance Service department & am Certain your questions will be answered! Good luck 🍀👍

I removed my steps from my 2022 model And install Torxlift uprising steps. The OEM steps can certainly be reinstalled. I think I'm missing a piece of trim at my door because the trim was cut to meet the steps and now that the steps are gone the trim needs to be longer. I never did anything about it.
I'm not sure if this applies to the newer models but once I removed the steps the casing around the door needed to be redone Not a deal breaker but just something to be aware of.
