Nautilus Panel Black Tank Switch Light Stays ON

The black tank gate valve switch stays illuminated regardless of the position it is placed in. As an end around, I've been pulling the mini fuse out when I'm not using the switch. Any ideas on the what the cause or how to correct it?
And yes, the valve operates as it should. It opens, it closes with no issues.

Any chance, you could share a picture of the wiring and the back of the switch assembly.

Even though things work, I have to wonder if it could be a matter of wires landed on the wrong connection.

Given that the switch has a light obviously that bulb needs a power and ground to operate and I am wondering how that is provided.

Short of a possiable wiring issue, you could have a defective switch.

You could always try swapping it out with a Gray Tank switch to see what happens.

Just had another thought, It could be an issue with the sensing mechanism at the valve itself. Possibly a bad contact or adjustment. There is a contact of some sort inside the housing that demtermines if the valve is open or closed.

Attached are the installation instructions. It also contains the adjustment process for the light mechanism on the valve.
Basically, just turning a set screw.

Apologies but just to check all the boxes — 'all positions' does include the middle position, right?

Correct, open, closed, and middle position, the light remains on. I will try to trouble shoot today. I may actually have to take it in to a dealer this week for another issue. If so, I'll inquire with them.

Thanks for the info. I went out and checked behind the panel, all looked well. I pulled the black tank switch, checked the connections on the backside and tested. Works like new. ON when in the OPEN position, light stays ON until the gate is shut, I could hear it close, then the light went OUT. Currently in the middle position, light is OUT. Simple enough, I just haven't had time until today to mess with it.
Thanks again.

Glad to hear it worked out for you!
Any ideas on root cause, loose connections, terminals touching each other, other?

Or maybe just magic!😂

No, I didn't find anything obvious. I just tried to gently spread them apart to ensure there was no contact being made.
