My macerator came with the cigarette lighter outlet wired to small jumper style clamps for power. We have a 46' Valor 44V14 so the supplied wire did not reach to where my batteries are in the front compartment. I waited until last minute to solve this (think full tanks boondocking on the wall in the badlands sort of last minute).. I had a couple rolls of 10 gauge wire on board so I made an extension cord so I could reach the batteries. This worked until I blew the glass tube fuse in the cigarette outlet pumping in Moab. I don't keep those silly fuses on hand so I cut out the outlet and wired in a fuse holder and blade fuse and kept going.
Eventually, my preferred option is to hardwire an Anderson plug with a cover near the sewer outlet to plug directly into. I keep my tool box in front of the battery bank so reaching back there and getting the clamps on the battery posts is a PIA.
