Lube plate

Anyone have this problem? Angle on pin box forces the line plate off when hitching and ruins the lube plate. I kerfed the backside and used a heat gun to bend it to the angle of the pin box. We shall see. I also dabbed a pew dots of silicone caulk to hold it in place but the angle should do that?🤔IMG_4799.jpeg

Actually, the 12 inch seems to be the right size. It’s just a lip in the front where the plate sticks out. I bent it upwards and it fixed the problem.

If it were the right size you would not have to bend it like that. Look for an 8" or 10" plate and things will likely fit better.

Sorry about that. They should get their story straight lol.
Guys, I don’t see the harm in going with a little smaller diameter and avoiding having to modify/ bend it up.
The key is to cover as much surface area as possible without causing interference anywhere. The bend of the excess is non functional anyway, so whats the point?

@BryanValRox I think you have misinterpreted something. We all three agree the original lube plate was too big. Maybe OP did not realize they came in different sizes prior to this discussion or something.

Hey Darrell, thanks for the comments. The point I was trying to make was to choose a size that you don’t have to modify, as this modification becomes nonfunctional so why not choose a smaller size and avoid the modification and reep the same benefits of a smaller lube plate. As you said, I think we all agree that this one is a bit large for the application.
Best regards!
