Inverter Pass-Through Question

Our Avenue 23ML has a 3000 watt inverter installed and must be left on as pass-through when hooked to AC power. So, the inverter is always on when using electricity. My question is can we turn off the inverter at night when not using AC power, even though we still are connected? Turning off the inverter when not using air conditioners, TV, etc. would increase life of inverter.

No reason to ever turn it off, unless you are putting the RV into storage. If the RV park were to loose power, you will still have AC power, with inverter on. If your inverter supports it (our Victron Multiplus II does) it can supply your RV with 50 amps of power even if you're on a 30 amp shore connection. Yes, this uses battery power, but will then charge battery bank back up, with the draw is below 30 amps again.
