Very nerdy topic, I know. Anyhow, I’ve been researching everything “sealant” on an RV. Turns out that the blade seals, and some bulb seals, on our RV slides are not rubber, but plastic. The plastic has UV protection as part of its chemical composition. Additional UV protectants are not needed per the manufacturer (according to the web, I have not reached out). However non aerosol protectants, like 303, will not harm them. Some aerosol protectants, like 3 in 1, are designed for rubber, not plastic, and may degrade the blade seals. The seals around our cargo doors are rubber and the 3 in 1 may be okay for them. According to what I’ve seen so far, regarding slide seals, the most important PM is to keep them clean, and also the areas around the slides. Dawn and water is sufficient for cleaning and they recommend monthly inspection and cleaning if indicated.
Despite the fact UV protection is built in, I’m still using 303 on everything.
Not an engineer but this seems credible to me.
