Improved Sliding Door Guide

After adjusting the sliding closet door several times I bought these guides. They're aluminum and much stronger than the plastic ones. I cut off the excess on the horizontal bottom of the "L" shaped piece to protect my toes. 😬
I also moved the stop screws inside the track a little farther apart to reduce the side-to-side travel when latched.

Did they screw in well in existing hoes or did you mount them in fresh holes on the wall?

They needed fresh holes but did not conflict with and covered the existing holes.
Update: the originals were not mounted to the wall. These and the originals are/were into the edge of the 1x4 door jamb.

I had some old felt backed furniture slides/pads that I cut into 1"x 2" pieces then double backed taped them to the walls. Worked great for me.

I installed similar hardware from Home Depot. It works quite well. No longer worrying about the doors falling down during travel.

I am attaching a copy of what we did, mentioned on a prior message.
