Heavy AC Load on Leg 2 of 50 AMP

I found this interesting. I contacted Alliance Tech with this: Problem with Electrical System Load on Leg 2 of 50 amp. All three air conditioners, Microwave and Dryer are wired to leg 2 of the 50amp service. The only heavy use item that I found that is on leg 1 of the 50 amp is the water heater. I have verified this use both with my Power Watch Dog and Victron Cerbo GX. This seems like too high of a load on the single leg of the 50 amp service. Can you confirm that this is the intended wiring load?
Alliance Response: Thank you for contacting the service team of Alliance RV. I received your information regarding the legs of your 50-amp service in your 2025 Paradigm 310RL. Your wiring is as designed. This is to ensure that you still have power if you connect your coach to a 30-amp shore power with an adapter. Some adapters do not have a built-in jumper for both legs of the 50-amp service and only power one side. To ensure that you do not run into this problem, your coach is wired so that those components are on one leg but will still have sufficient power when plugged into a 50-amp shore power. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

Ok, I will be the first to say it here. I have to throw my BS flag at this one!!

In your case what if the adapter of choice only powers the leg without the ac’s hooked up…….whoops No AC or anything else on that leg for that matter.

Our 2024 310RL is split between the 2 legs, and it is normally a best practice to try to balance your panel loads.

Just saying their response and justification doesn’t reconcile in my mind.

I agree with Bryan. The total load needs to be balanced. That response, from Alliance needs to be addressed. I can look at the total amp draw with my surge suppressor Bluetooth, have installed. And it balanced. 3 AC running, water heater, microwave.all with no problem.

Something is differently wrong !

Fixed! I was able to get a schematic of the breaker panel. We had a mobile RV Tech come out and troubleshoot. He was able to swap a couple of breakers to help balance the 50 AMP. Very happy with the balance of the 50 AMP legs. I will use a label maker to label the breakers.
Any chance you could share the schematic with your fellow allies?
I am very courious on how any additional conversations when with tech support, I have to assume you challenged their email response. And that lead to them providing a schematic that must have shown a different strategy.

I’d really like to get a copy as well! My 2025 310RL has the AC units separated, 2/1. I’d like to see the GFCI relationships.

wait a second. The image you posted (shown below) is from your Victron CerboGX. That (from what I know) is not factory equipment. Who installed the CerboGX? Seems like the problem with your L1 and L2 power is from your after market installation, not from factory installation. Please correct me if I am wrong if Alliance is installing CerboGX hardware now.

Can you share a photo of the breaker label of the power control center please? Love to see how Alliance laid it out.
The 50A middle breaker is the two legs of your shore power.
All breakers above that are one leg and all breakers below it are the other.

Sorry I am unable to share the provided schematic. It is considered proprietary by Alliance and the ask me not to share.

No Alliance didn't install the Cerbo GX. Also, no it doesn't appear that the installation of my solar system caused the problem according to the RV repair technician.

I think Jim is on to something. The load got imbalanced and now has returned to balanced.

At least it has all worked out.
Enjoy,

Hi Jim, in my humble option, the issue is really about Alliance’s response indicating that it is engineered to have most of , if not all of the heavy loads on one leg, due to some adapters not having a jumper to power both legs.
I think we can all agree, that mistakes happen, but shouldn’t tech support agents be well versed in basic practices.
My point being their response to this issue just didn’t reconcile in my mind regardless of who is responsible for the problem.
