I have no complaints about the number of outlets in our 310RL but there are basically 2 circuits for general use inside. I noticed we are dishwasher prepped and that meant there is an unused receptacle on a 15A dedicated circuit under the island drawers. This receptacle is not GFI. Buy that flavor if you feel the need (see #1)
Here are lessons learned in my experience to utilize this receptacle.
1. I used a 14AWG pigtail and a receptacle with USB-A and -C. The USB-C hole is the "fast charge" type. Leviton T5633-E https://a.co/d/3D2wQEg
2. A better location would be on the end of the island but the box could interfere with drawer contents.
3. I placed it centered vertically between the bottom two drawer boxes but in hindsight it could be moved up or down some.
4. I wanted it centered horizontally on the raised panel. This was a mistake as I cut the hole for the old-work box before noticing the vertical rear drawer support. I had to add a support on each side of it and cut out a section. (It was not possible to access all fasteners to remove it) Moving the outlet rearward ~1" would have saved a lot of consternation.
I'm pleased with how it turned out in any case. We can now plug in an electric heater on this circuit and also make coffee or use the toaster oven on the general outlet circuit(s).
Or one could ignore all of the above 🙄 and just snake a plug up through gaps (blue elipses) to use the receptacle.
P.S. It has been suggested to me that a better design would be to replace the existing receptacle with a junction box and use Romex to the new box. 🤷🏼♂️
