BEWARE 09AFA TANKLESS WATER HEATER OWNERS

further to my earlier post, re: this heater coming on by itself. it turns out that this heater is designed to come on when temperatures are below 40 degrees, per lippert. if you don't want this, you have to turn it off at the appliance. if you want to use this feature, the gas line has to be pressurized. if you do that, and cover your rv with a fabric cover, WELLLLL, you decide if that's smart.

I have never covered my RV's....but I would say that if I did, I would turn all propane off...all power off (120v and 12v). If that is done, how could the heater come on?

i guess that's my point. i'm old and slow-witted. it just occurred to me that IF a guy were to leave his rv plugged in at his home rv pad and left a tank turned on, then covered the unit because of some oncoming snow storm, he better remember to remove power from the water heater. if a lot of people don't know how to winterize the AFA heater, how many know that this heater can come on by itself even if it's powered off at the control panel? i didn't. if my post keeps even two or three people from making this dangerous mistake, then i can sleep well tonight. thanks.
